Mylnefield Research Services
Mylnefield Research Services (MRS) Ltd is a commercial affiliate of the James Hutton Institute based in Dundee, Scotland. MRS was founded in 1989 as wholly-owned subsidiary of the Scottish Crop Research Institute (SCRI). On the 1st April 2011, following the merger of SCRI with the Macaulay Land Use Research Institute in Aberdeen, the ownership of MRS transferred from SCRI to the James Hutton Institute.
Crop research
The remit of MRS remains unchanged, to undertake contract research, especially plant breeding, license plant varieties internationally and deliver analytical services. Profits made by MRS will be gift aided to the James Hutton Institute.
